About Jean Karota

​Based in Monterey County, CA

​

I am a self taught graphic designer, illustrator, editor, and novice photographer based in Central California. I currently own and operate my own clothing brand and do freelance design work for friends and clients.

​

I am the owner of SUBCONSCIOUS USA, a streetwear clothing brand I founded in 2020 that I design for and run completely by myself. I am also the creative director for The World is Ours Records, a music collective and record company started by one of my closest friends and frequent business partner.

​

With my passion for the fashion industry; I hope to stretch my knowledge far enough to one day direct for an established fashion house, or build myself high enough to be able to found my own.

​

My work currently consists of graphic design, screen printing, video editing, and digital photography. Some other projects I have taken part in are reconstructing old clothing items into bags, creating album art, pressing vinyl records, vocal mixing, creating skateboard decks, and oil painting.
